Bone Resorption marker – a measure of osteoporosis
risk - £60
All through our lives our bones are constantly being broken down and rebuilt.
It is necessary that this process remains perfectly balanced. If more bone
is broken down than is rebuilt the process of osteoporosis can be said to
have started with all its damaging consequences.
This is a trend that can be reversed, especially at the beginning, which
is why monitoring your level of bone turnover is so important.
This urine test measures the level of excretion of crosslinks which are
a measure of the bone resorption process. It is these crosslinks which provide
the rigidity and strength of our bone.
Should your score fall outside the reference range we will provide you with
recommendations to help you reverse this process.
